Turkish champions Fenerbache have beaten off several top European clubs to sign Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike on a four-year deal.

Newly crowned champions Fenerbache announced Emenike’s capture on their website late Wednesday. There was no mention of the transfer fee but media reports have suggested the move could have set back the Istanbul giants by 9 million euros.

Twenty four-year-old striker Emenike blasted 14 goals in 23 appearances for Karabukspor in the Turkish top flight this season to get the notice of several top clubs including Olympique Marseille, who also made an official bid for him.

The last couple of weeks have been good for Nigeria stars on the transfer market in Europe.

International left fullback Taye Taiwo signed a three-year contract with Italian champions AC Milan at the expiration of his agreement with Olympique Marseille.

Israel-based international goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama is on the verge of teaming up with French league and cup double winners Lille, while Eagles skipper Joseph Yobo is expected to soon join Fenerbahce on a permanent basis after a successful season-long loan from Everton.

Two of Nigeria’s top stars, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha and Uche Okechukwu, featured for several seasons for Fenerbache in the late 90s.
