A berdeen forward Sone Aluko is weighing up a move to England with newly-promoted QPR and Norwich along with Leicester said to be interested in the Nigerian striker.

Birmingham City, from where the striker joined Aberdeen in 2008 for £50 000 are also said to be interested.

Aluko’s contract with Aberdeen is up in September and sources close to the player said that England or Turkey are his preferred destinations.

“Sone would like to join a club in the Premiership, or a Championship club with ambitions to get into the Premiership within one season,” sources said.

Leicester were reportedly in the forefront to land the left-footed forward, but have balked at a £200 000 compensation that Aberdeen are entitled to.

That situation has left Birmingham in a strong position as they would not have to pay any compensation since the striker joined the Pittodrie club from their ranks.
