Emma Amaize 12 May 2011 Warri — GUNSHOTS thundered for hours in the creek of Delta State, thursday, as the Joint Task Force, JTF, on the Niger-Delta, shelled a militant camp, belonging to wanted ex-militant leader, John Togo, with military helicopters and gunboats.

Police have launched a man hunt for a a man suspected to be behind the recruitment of youths to the Alshabaab militia. The anti terrorism police unit questioning a 25 year old man who claims that he was lured by the man, a businessman from Nairobi to join the group in Somalia. Senior anti terror police officers in Mombasa and Nairobi have launched a joint operation targeting the man of Somali origin who resides at Parkland estate in Nairobi and runs a transport company dealing in fuel. The man claims he refused to join the group after being told to convert to Islam at a mosque in Mombasa.
