Coast-based youth soccer academy has landed invitation to an international tournament in Spain. Mombasa Youth Soccer Academy (MYSA) are set to travel to Barcelona, where they will participate in the Youth Soccer Challenge in early July.
The academy led by former Harambee Stars coach Mohammed Kheri will depart on July 2 for the week-long tourney. Kheri, who is the MYSA technical director, said they have been invited to Spain courtesy of Sports Contact International (SCI). “We are privileged to be invited to represent this region in the tournament that brings together several teams from all over the world,” he said.
Kheri said MYSA are the only side from East Africa invited for the tournament that will feature players under the age of 15 and 19. The Spain trip, that will last ten days, comes barely two years after a similar experience in Sweden. “We are grateful to have had similar experience in Sweden two years ago,” he said.
