Joseph Yamin claims he has received several reports from delegates of the party in the Ashanti Region, enquiring whether he has officially declared for the sitting President, because some members of the GAME were claiming so.
According to Yamin, the said people are going about telling the delegates that he (Yamin) is in the camp of the President, when he has not made any statement or acted in a way to presume that he belongs to that faction.
‘In recent times, my office has received reports from our valued delegates about some wicked lies being peddled by some self-seeking members of the NDC, who have been masquerading as members of GAME in Ashanti Region,’ the NDC scribe noted.
In a statement issued by him, Mr. Yamin observed that he is not into contest with anyone and sees the action of the said members of GAME as an attempt to denigrate his hard won image.
‘Let me caution those individuals that I have all the records of all the things said about me and do not want to expose things that will be bad for all of us,’ he charged. Yamin said the unity and progress of the NDC as a party was his major concern, and not personality cult.
He said as a true NDC member, he believes in the ideology of the founder of the party, Jerry John Rawlings, and that should be the focus point for every member of the party, and not who should or should not lead.
‘I have served this great party with all my heart and have suffered enough for this party, so I deserve my peace of mind,’ he pleaded.
The NDC scribe, therefore, pleaded with each and every supporter of the party not to engage in any act that could spell doom for the party, stressing ‘the NDC would need everyone on board after the July congress’.
Meanwhile, the regional Executive Communication Director of GAME, Ebenezer Opoku Alooke, has categorically denied the allegations by Mr. Yamin in an interview, challenging him to mention names or produce evidence to that effect.
