Bridges Being Put in Place Along Five Streams in Areza Sub-Zone

Areza — The inhabitants of various villages in Areza sub-zone are constructing bridges along 5 streams which have been causing transport problem along the 17 Km-long road running from Areza to Debre-Menkorios.

Accordingly, the inhabitants of Afelba, Adebeza, Adi-Gulti and Debre-Menkorios are undertaking coordinated campaign towards putting in place bridges along the streams of Mai-Hidmo, Mai-Litsuy, Mai-Afresu, Mai-Beqeset and Ruba Mintaniyos. Reports indicated that the popular campaign is aimed at easing transport problem encountered during the rainy season.

A member of development committee, Mr. Paulos Tesfai, said that on top of employing their labor in the activities, the local inhabitants have contributed over 3 million Nakfa for the success of the project.

The local inhabitants said that they are stepping up the activities so as to finalize the undertaking before the onset of the rainy season.
