Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook and the world’s youngest billionaire, has bought his first home, costing $7 million. Mark Zuckerberg had until recently rented a small home that he found on Craigslist, despite being worth a reported $6.9 billion, reports the UK’s Daily Mail

26-year-old Zuckerberg has purchased the house in Palo Alto, the area that he has lived in since dropping out of Harvard University to devote his time to Facebook. The property is just a short drive from the social network’s new Silicon Valley campus. The 520sq metre home features a saltwater pool, a “music alcove”, five bedrooms and a “croquet-worthy” lawn. Zuckerberg has been known to shun the flashy purchases that come with his type of wealth, and chooses to drive an Acura car as well as opting for hoodies over designer suits. Zuckerberg will share the new home with his girlfriend of seven years, Priscilla Chan, who some observers have speculated he could soon become engaged to. The couple are not expected to move into the property for several more months, with the previous owners reportedly wanting to give the home “an overhaul” ready for Zuckerberg’s arrival.

Mark Zuckerberg’s ‘Facebook’ has been valued at more than $50 billion, with Forbes estimated that the 26-year-old’s personal wealth makes him the 35th richest man in America.
