Heurelho Gomes spilled Lampard’s shot through his legs before scrambling back and appearing to stop the ball from crossing the line, but it was given.

For Tottenham though the result is a devastating blow that all but ends their hopes of catching fourth-placed Manchester City and with that a second-successive place in the Champions League
