Ghana have drawn Togo, Gambia and Senegal in Group B of the West African Football Union’s Tournament which begins on 5 May in Nigeria.

Defending champions and hosts Nigeria will open their defence against Mali before facing Liberia and Niger in Pool A.

Wafu General Secretary Aka Malan said the host is ready to stage a glamorous competition.

“There are no minnows in African football anymore so we are expecting shocks in this tournament. There is no doubt that the competition will be highly competitive this time.”

Ghana FA president Kwasi Nyantakyi was named Wafu’s interim president earlier this month.

The home-based national team will play their matches at the Ijebu-Ode International Stadium.
