Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong suffered racial abuse in England just days after switching nationality to play for his country of birth.
The former England U21 international, who is on loan at Charlton, claims he suffered the abuse over from Milwall fans the weekend in the Npower Championship.
Frimpong, who was an unused substitute, was allegedly on the receiving end of the abuse along with fellow substitute Danny Haynes.
The 20-year-old posted on his official Twitter page: “If I didn’t know what a racist man ever look like . . . surely found that out at Millwall today”- Frimpong tweeted this after the game but quickly deleted it.
No decision has been made regarding if either player will wish to take the matter further however Frimpong tweeted after the game.
But a Charlton official says the club will offer the players their full backing if they wish to take the matter further.
Frimpong is on loan at Charlton Athletic from English Premier League side Arsenal.
He opted to play for the Black Stars and just last week FIFA approved his quest to dump England in favour of Ghana where his parents were born.
